Bears give Cutler two-year extension Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Bears showed that they are happy with Jay Cutler's play by giving their quarterback a two-year contract extension on Tuesday, which will keep him in Chicago through the 2013 season.The 26-year-old Cutler was acquired by the Bears in a trade with the Broncos in April. Cutler, who was the 11th overall selection of the 2006 draft, spent his first three years in Denver before multiple run-ins with Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels led to his departure. Cutler has been solid in leading Chicago to a respectable 3-2 start to the season. He has started all five games and has completed 110-of-172 passes for 1,201 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions for an 86.9 passer rating. The 6-foot-3, 233-pound Vanderbilt product has thrown for 10,225 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 44 interceptions in 42 career games. He was named to his first Pro Bowl last year after passing for a Denver franchise-record 4,526 yards in 16 starts.
